In brief
The style ranges from Audubon’s bird plates and Haeckel’s jellyfish to William Morris’s Strawberry Thief and Franz Marc’s blue horses. Scientific accuracy, rhythmic pattern or symbolic colour each show nature through a different eye. Works with plants and animals are especially popular for kitchens, bathrooms and children’s rooms.
